After
my visitation to Veterans Plaza Memorial in Clearwater, I was very
impressed with the Project. I need to congratulate you as the President
and the Board Directors of “Tampa bay Veterans Alliance” for the
excellent work.
USA
and GREECE have been and continue to be faithful, and powerful Allies
for many years. The request of Foundation of Hellenism of America is to
build “AMERICAN HELLENIC WW II MEMORIAL”, as showing in the drawing # 1
and # 2, (The Arch of
Triumph) and at the opening in front of the Arch, will be placed a
bronze statue of Goddess NIKE at the Veterans Memorial Plaza in
Clearwater, Florida, USA with the financial support of the Greek
Community. The Arch and the statue are the Symbols of VICTORY. The
erection of the Monument for Americans and Greeks who died in the war,
will be the Historical Reference Point of world recognition of human
freedom and dignity. During WW II, the Axis power destroyed
almost 1,500 Villages, Seaports, Airports, Railways, Roads and ten
percent the population of Greece lost their lives. Furthermore, about
one million people. “The Heroes fight like Greeks, if there had not
been the virtue and courage of the Greeks, we do not know which the
outcome of World War II would have been” (Winston . Churchil).
The Greek resistance of 216 days saved the world with the
contribution to the outcome of WW II. It will be a great honor for the
Greek people to be recognized for the struggles against the Axis Power.
Hopefully
for a positive decision
With
warm Greetings
